The Toy Car

The car was new
A toy for the little one
Black with silver streaks.

Ready to whizz by
With bright little lights
When the button is pressed.

The battery was loaded
All was got ready for
The button to be pressed.

“I’ll control the remote.”
Said Papa
“No, no I want to”
Said son.

“Give me,” “no, you give me”
They wrestled with each other
And the antenna broke.

Two pairs of eyes looked at each other
One filled with anger
The other with tears.

O my, I wonder
Who is the father here?
And who the son?

No wonder they say
“There’s a child in every man.”
And that is true indeed.

  2. Dear Susan,

I am going to sue you! Why you posted the story that is happening in my house ??????

Well written, I could not help laughing out!!

That is truth! We have also formed some Junk Yards - categorized for toys that had natural death, for toys destroyed due to fighting, toys destroyed within a week, toys destroyed on the same day of purchase and toys destroyed by the father when the toys started poking his legs while walking (in the house) !!!

    Good one!

    Best Regards,
    Renjith
