The Miracle
Tiny pearls rest on each green leaf
Were they harvested from tiny oysters?
No, watch for the miracle that follows
Soon little worms pop out of the pearls
And crawl around with stubby legs.
Always hungry for more
They start munching on the greens.
Munch, munch, munch they go
But one day they stop eating
And curl up under the leaves.
They fall into a deep sleep
Then, another miracle:
They are slowly encased in shiny cases.
Inside each chrysalis the little worms
Continue in trance their journey in time
The great Alchemist continues with His spells
And wonder of wonders!
One day all the shells split open
And out come many beautiful bright- winged creatures
They flutter and dance in the air
Surprised by the metamorphosis
Or the miracles that brought them there.
How magical His hands are
Who creates such magnificent creatures
And scatters them over the world!
