I have a daily journal where I write the day to day events, make lists and so on. In June, my second journal of this year got completed. The same time, I got the book," Artist's Journal Workshop: Creating your Life in Words and Pictures" by Cathy Johnson. It inspired me to come up with this Altered Journal.
I altered a 2011 Journal and for the last six days I have been enjoying my daily writing/sketching/painting...in here a lot more than before.
Now a look into my journal:
I didn't try for perfection or excellence here.My focus is only in drawing something that is related to my life. It is all about memories that I want to cherish.
My son's toy cab. Though it didn't turn out well he was very happy to see it. It is very easy to make the little ones happy:)

A blank page like this was altered in many ways
A sketch of the skyride that we took at the fair

A piece of jewelry that I am planning to make
Watercolor background
A new page for tomorrow. On the right doodled flowers in watercolor.
You don't have to pay so much for a journal. If you have an old book, glue a couple of pages together, paint or doodle the backgrounds, or do some collage and journal. I guarantee, you will enjoy it more than using any ready-to-write journals.
Thank you
Susan
