Sage and Sepia

This is the last week challenge at Summer Of Colors hosted by Kristin. Kristin, thank you so much for adding more creative spark into our lives this summer with these great color combo challenges. I experimented with so many new colors which I would never have dreamt of doing in my everyday art.

This week's colors are Sage and Sepia. This is my first girl on canvas with a face. Her dress is almost this shade of green and the butterflies are a shade of sepia.

I'm also posting these two acrylic paintings that I did. Though there is no use of sage here, both the paintings have used lots of different shades of brown.[Please, click on the pictures to see better]
I found the tutorial for these two paintings from a wonderful book named Little Landscapes by Priscilla Hauser. It's a great book for those who love step by step tutorials.

I'm also linking these projects to PPF and Art Journal Everyday
Stay Cool everyone and wishing you all a great weekend.

  9. Hi Susan,
Oh how cute your girl is, love her hair!! She looks great and the background is fun. Lovely dress and butterflies too.

WOW, that snow scene is GORGEOUS!! LOVE LOVE THIS!! You know how I am about trees. The other one is wonderful too Susan, great job on these. Will have to look for that book.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the cool down that is finally here. We have lightening and thunder that kept me up all night. Summer is home and it's so good to have her here. She did good but missed home and enjoyed being in the A/C finally after a week of sweat and sun and bugs, haha! Take care dear friend!
