Time for Tea and Art...

Hello it is time for 'Tea' again at Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday. I'm not having my usual cup of coffee This is my daily glass of lemon and warm water. After finishing this I make my coffee.

Last week I fell behind with Root-30 Day Journal Project due to  back pain and a terrible migraine. I want to share from Days 19-24 here with you.

This was the page that I was doing today morning. It is Day-23. The prompt was a Walt Whitman quote-
"You must habit yourself to the dazzle of the light and every moment of your life."
This page is heavy with Dylusion sprays and there is a silhouette of a girl. I also added a small deli paper dragon fly on her shoulder. I finished the page with some iridescent medium on her clothes and modeling paste texture on the background.

Day-19. The prompt was related to poetry. So I added some lines written by Rumi.-
"I want to sing like the birds sing, not worrying about who hears or what they think."
Yes! I do want to do that with my life and my art. Wish it would come easy for me just as the birds can do it.

Day-20 Yet another favorite page of mine. I'm sure I'll be creating more pages like this.
Her prompt was, " Enjoy your presence."

Day-21 One more page on similar lines. The prompt was, "Remember who you are..."

I did a collage for Day-22 prompt. It was about Solitude versus Loneliness... I journaled my thoughts on the the girl. The hand is always there to give me company.

Day-23 I took one more picture of it to go with the flow-:)

Day-24 This page is again rich with water color medium. There is water color, Twinks, gelatos and to have
more texture I have also added modeling paste and stenciling.
The prompts was: "If we surrendered to earth's intelligence we could rise up rooted, like trees."- Rainer Maria Rilke.
I love the above page but somehow I felt it to be incomplete. So I added one more painted layer to it. I'm still not sure which one I like. Can you help me? Which one did you like? Which one do you think stand close to the given prompt.

Wish you all a wonderful Tuesday.
Thank you for being here

  2. Your beautifully layered pages so full of color make me happy Susan! Love your silhouette images too-did you draw them or are they stamps? I like your last page and I do agree it feels incomplete. However, I see a face looking down (the spot of blue) so perhaps you could do something with that? Happy T day to you!

  3. I love your beautiful pages. They are so rich with lots of techniques and products I only dream of owning. I think I prefer the first of the two better. Sometimes less is truly more.

Of course, I adore the girls and the hand, since I've made an entire book around the subject of hands. And of course, I LOVE the bird. Anything with a bird really makes me smile.

Thanks for sharing your lemon water and art with us for T this Tuesday.

Thanks for sharing your gorgeous art and

  6. Your artwork is all special and so colorful and rich...
    those are some great prompts...
I enjoy short quotes and words of inspiration very much and find them helpful in my work.
Perhaps a couple of words on your last piece (but I am always adding words to my artwork)
Hope your back pain is gone as that can certainly take all the fun out of life and having a migraine too...
oh my dear Susan those are horrible too!
Take care and have a Happy T Day

  7. Oh those are really gorgeous pages! hard to pick a favorite...but I am drawn to the day 22 collage because of the composition. The contrast of light and dark, the movement caused by the different colors-quite lovely! happy T day!

  8. I think I like the first one better. The colors look clearer to me, but then I can't always tell the actual color from photos on my computer. I like your bird. Happy T Day :) I hope you're feeling well today.
