The Birth
Is it the sudden outburst of emotions?
Or a pre-meditated art?
The overflow of thoughts
Or the unraveling of the mind?
The play of colors and the dance of figurines
The jumbled images and phrases within me
Sometimes they laugh and sometimes they weep
All are entangled and tied up in knots.
Suffocating and breathing heavily
I manage to unburden myself,
The door of my inner eye opens
And they tumble on to the pages before me.
My kindred spirits are adorned in ink
Forever eloquent and unfading,
The pangs of birth are over
Contented I heave a sigh of relief.

Dear Susan,
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
On a lighter note, it is neither a sudden outburst of emotions nor a pre-meditated art, if you meant "normal" birth? Its planned most of the time !!!!
About birth of a literary work, you have said it right !
Suffocating and breathing heavily
I try to manage to unburden myself
But, if the door of my room opens
I tumble on the table with all my thoughts!
Nice that you are writing on unexpected subjects!
Keep going.
Best Regards,
Renjith
i really enjoyed this!! your expression of the birth of writing something from deep inside -- exceptional.
