Hand carved Stamps

Last week I bought a Speedball Linoleum Cutter set and a sheet of carving block from Blick. These are my experiments with it.

The Linoleum Cutter has five cutters of different sizes. Along with it some erasers or carving blocks and an exacto knife  and you're all set to make some awesome stamps. [Sorry my stamps have already turned dirty and I'm a total failure when it comes to cleaning them:) ]

I carved the above two stamps on the same block and  tried them out in my daily journal.

These two chevron pattern stamps were made from this awesome tutorial that Julie Balzer had posted on her blog. If you click this link http://balzerdesigns.typepad.com/balzer_designs/2011/11/from-the-archives-chevron-stamp-tutorial.html you can find the step by step instructions.
This picture reminds me that I need to buy a new ink pad too. But I just couldn't wait to share my hand carved stamps with you. Anyways these are just samples that I tried and now I'm going to think of putting them to use in my artsy world:)

Have a great day and Thanks for checking

  2. I was just in Hobby Lobby yesterday looking over the Speedball cutters but I just couldn't decide. I have not tried this yet but I am excited about the possibilities. I love what you have carved. Thanks for mentioning what you purchased. Are you happy with the choice? Was it expensive? I plan on looking for the same.

  3. Hi Susan, so excited to read this post!! This is one of my TO DO things this year (hoping sooner then later)so that I can add fun to my pages.

These look GREAT!! I love the designs you made, how FUN and Pretty they will be to use. Thanks for explaining how/what you purchased, how nice that it all comes in one package.

I will probably start with erasers first then work my way up. Have fun playing!!
