Roots Day 1, 2 and 3

A warm Hello to dear Elizabeth and all my other blogger friends at T Stands for Tuesday
I want to Thank each and everyone of you who took the time to go through my son's sketches and had encouraged him with your kind words here. I showed him that and he was very happy. Of course I do remind him that he has only started this journey, and if he is interested in continuing with his passion there will always be more encouraging and inspiring words for him-:)

Today I'm sharing my usual  big mug of coffee with one of the art pages that I did for Lisa Sonora Beam's online Art Journaling class, Roots. This is my second time doing the same class but I still feel motivated to write on the quotes that she posts each day.

The above page was done for Day-3 prompt. It was on cultivating our roots. So I did this painting with my new acrylic Golden paint set. These paints are so expensive that I can't afford to buy them at their original price. But last week there was a 55% off coupon at our A.C.Moore and Yes! I just snagged a small set. Once I used them I realized why they are so pricey. The colors are so creamy and rich. I'm sure I'm going to get more colors with the help of more coupons-:)

I did this page for Day-2. I found creating this Yoga pose silhouette very apt for her theme on commitment to oneself in life.

Day-1 I did a collage. The prompt was about starting something, in this case journaling, even if we are able to take only baby steps.
I'm yet to do my Day-4 and 5 Challenges. I'm doing all the 30 Days Challenge in a note book.

The above Summer Blooms were done in watercolors in my daily journal as part of an FB weekly prompt.

That is all for this week.
Hope you all have a warm and sunny Tuesday
Thank you for being here

  3. Just FANTASTIC art!!! Years ago I found that the better quality, more expensive, paints were worth it in the long run. Even the supplies I use now I try to get the "best", if I can find them locally, and yes I do have to use coupons too.........LOL

Glad your son had such a positive return on his art. It really was amazing.
    Happy T-day

  4. Oh how I've longed to always keep a journal. I always start one with good intentions and then somewhere it just. . . fails. . . but, I'm forever inspired to re-start. I like the idea of journaling prompts - because sometimes you just never know what to say. Thanks for sharing such a small, and intimately personal piece of yours, Susan.

  5. Your art never ceases to amaze me. You do it so well. I loved the "baby steps." Great collage.

I agree that Golden's acrylics are expensive. They are so expensive because their colors are so saturated. I can't afford them, and wouldn't think of buying them unless I planned to sell my art. Your art (the roots) is so vibrant. I can see why you are drawn to these acrylics.

Thanks for sharing your lovely journal pages and coffee with us for T this Tuesday. Glad your son was pleased with the comments, because we were sure pleased with his art!
