As ambition crawled up his soul
Life slipped through his fingers.
Worldly riches filled his mansions
Yet, only emptiness welcomed
The four walls of his mind.
All through the day
Companions and colleagues chaperoned him
Secretaries and servants waited on him.
But all through the night
His vagrant spirit wandered in solitude.
The moment when his present paused
When no more future passed by
In vain, he realized-
That TIME has slipped through
His already barren existence.

ReplyDeleteThis has a nice rythm to it. I also wrote about time.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first time I've been on your blog. You pen a wonderful poem. The story is both delicate and direct. I will be back when I have more time. I love to read anything written with true talent.
