T stands for Tea Museum

Happy Tuesday to everyone at Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday
Today I wanted to share with you all some of the photos that we had taken while we were at the tea museum/factory in India.
The tea plantation is located in the town of Munnar, in the southwestern state of Kerala, India.

We visited the Tea Museum/ Factory which is under the ownership of Kanan Devan Hills Plantation Company. The KDHP Co is the largest tea corporate in South India.

I found the above write up very informative.

They also showed us how the tea leaves are crushed and processed in different stages. But we couldn't stay at that part of the museum for a long time as the kids didn't show much interest in tea making-:(

They had a sales outlet at the museum and we bought different flavored tea, especially green tea.
Right now, I am having their spearmint flavored green tea. Not one of my favorites, still  I'm getting used to the smoky flavor it has.

As for art here are some pages from my daily art/writing journal
Thank you for visiting and Thank you Elizabeth for hosting this tea party every Tuesday. I'm all set to come and see what you all have been upto.

T stands for Creative Tuesday

Good morning Elizabeth and everyone at T stands for Tuesday. Now snow has given way to rain here. I'm so happy to see the little buds and flowers coming out and even at 5:00 in the morning I can here the chirping of the birds here.

Today morning with my daily cup of tea I was busy with my journal. Isn't Spring a great inspiration? I'm so happy with the colors on my page. You can click on the picture to see better. On the right I've used deli paper to embellish my page. Love, love to work on them.
A mixed- media page that I did. It is rich in texture and colors. One thing that is missing is a quote. I love to add meaningful quotes to my art.Still I wanted to share this with you maybe later I'll be adding a word or two to this page.
Yet another doodle and I can even use this pattern paper as a gift wrap or as a background for another painting. I will be doing more of this kind in the future.
Life is so busy here. We are going on a trip and I'm busy packing and getting things ready for it. But I'm still planning to keep my blog updated. I will also try my best to visit you all and see what all you have shared from your side.
Thank you for always supporting me with your kind words.

Happy Fall

Happy Fall to all of you. This is my favorite season for I feel Nature is adorned in her best shades from late September to the end of Oct or November.
But unfortunately it is not the best time of the year at home. School starts and along with it comes a series of visitors to my house such as cold and fever. Right now my oldest is at home recovering from a fever.

Last week it was my little son who had been suffering. So there it is, my tea cup resting along with the thermometer and the kids' medicine. A sketch that I did on my daily journal.

Yesterday I had my third watercolor class and I did more cars. I'm thoroughly enjoying this 'me' time that I get once in a week. Of course I do get time to do art at home but I've to juggle it with so many other chores.

When do you set aside some 'me' time for yourself ? I never realized the importance of keeping one in the past. But once I've started getting up early to have my own time, I understood how valuable and important it is now in my life. It energizes and makes me more productive and happy for the rest of the day.

My Daily Journal

Today I wanted to share my new Daily Journal here. This is an ordinary less than a dollar Composition book that had a complete makeover. I mainly bought this book because I love its graph printed pages.
I bound it with one of my Art Journal pages from last year and glued every two pages together with a glue stick.

I started writing in this book from December. So for January I started off with a planner in between the pages. I liked that idea plus adding in a watercolor card that I did last year.

On this page I have tried one of the stencils and do you see that heart doily? I journalled on that and will definitely be doing it again.

  Some more stencil trials.

A cool experiment that I did with watercolor, salt, stencils and a butterfly stamp. Loved the texture of this page. I hate wasting paint or any art stuff. So this is what I do, all the left over paints are used here to add that color and cheer to  my daily writing.
I also try my stencils in this book. This is the page in which I journalled today.

Hope you liked my 2013 journal. Anyone who wants to start an Art Journal, but hesitates due to the innumerable lists of products in the market, the high price you have to pay,... let me assure you- You can create one with a composition book, some student grade paints and stamps or stencils that you can find in your house. Just let your imagination soar and have the courage to experiment, that is all/
I am also linking this page to Show and Tell Saturday.

Thank you for all your encouragement
