As I was gluing this page it took me back to my childhood memories. During school holidays, I used to go through old magazines, cut out pictures that I loved and used to glue them on a notebook. Then, I didn't know that such a technique did exist and that it was called as collage.
Those days computers had still not come in. Now, I am thinking how wonderful the work of imagination is in a person's mind.
Those days, out of boredom I used to create collages and now I do it out of passion for colors and art:)

I love it when creating gives us so much back and becomes so much more to us than the doing of it. Wonderful post. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove the color combination and images of your collage Susan!
ReplyDeleteI love your collages. Yes, I remember cutting and pasting too -- and still love to do it out of my passion for color. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI'm always delighted to hear when people bring forward something they enjoyed as a child into their current life. Love your pages!
ReplyDeletelove your background! You've been art journaling for years, before it was even named. {:-Deb
ReplyDeleteSusan, this is awesome, LOVE LOVE the background!! What a great collage on both sides, can't pick a favorite, love them both! You always find such neat things to collage with. I'm not surprised to hear you were doing this when growing up, you were an artist even back then. So glad you are enjoying just as much now and sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteI only had books filled with my sticker collection, man did I love stickers. At Christmas time mom would let us tear up the toy magazines and make a list for her with them. Never did other then that time of year though.
Thanks for sharing!! Have a great week!

It's the same with me... I was art journaling, combining images and texts, long before I knew it excisted! I LOVE the squares/colourcombo on this page! Happy "Glue it Tuesday" on Wednesday ;)
ReplyDeleteI too have been making collages and vision boards since I was a little bitty kid. Who knew it was actually some big art movement:) Now if only I could get my technique to match my years of experience. You seem to have mastered it well!
ReplyDeleteThis post could have been written by me! I did the same thing as a kid.. had tons of 'books' of saved torn paper treasures. Wish I still had them. Thanks for rekindling an old memory.
