Sketches

Just two drawings from last week.

The brushes in a jar is part of an online class that I'm taking.

We  planted some veggies last week at  our friend's garden. That inspired me to draw this tomato plant.

More Sketches

These are the sketches from last week:

 Garden Doodle

Didn't get enough time to add color to these little birdies. For now they are just simple pen sketches.

May Sketches

These are the last few sketches from May.

I tried doing a couple of sketches from nature too:

On this page along with the painting I stuck the real flowers too. The background didn't turn out well but I enjoyed doing the flowers. Everything is part of a wonderful learning process.

Houses

These works are from Junelle Jacobson's " Bless This Mess" class that I'm currently taking. Junelle's  first workshop, The Art of Wild Abandonment is one of my favorites classes that I've taken so far. If you love sketching and watercolors, flowers and sheep I strongly recommend her classes.

Mother's Day cards made by four year old's, of course with a little help from me..
Another birthday card that I made for my son's friend.

[Too tired to write more, that is the truth:)] Hope next week I can share more in writing.

Sunday Sketches

I did one more coptic stitch book. This was made out of Strathmore drawing paper. I have made this as my daily nature sketchbook and last week started sketching in them.
Here are the sketches I did from last Tuesday. Most of the sketches were not completed on the same day. It is impossible for me to work like that with my kids and the chores that I've to finish here.I come back to them whenever I can and try to finish them.
 Bluebirds
By the time I started outlining the feathers my black pens seemed to have stopped working.
These Magnolias were inspired from a Pinterest tutorial.

Not happy with the barn painting. Practice, practice and more practice.

This is another sketch that I saw on Pinterest.

I hope I can at least sketch 3 to 5 days in the coming weeks.

Faces

Drawing faces and figures have always scared me. The truth is that fear never allowed me to even try drawing them.
Anyway last month I signed up for Christy Tomlinson's She Art-3 class and it has helped me to take the initiative to draw faces. Now the fear is gone instead I am trying to learn how to sketch faces.

Here are some of the faces that I have tried. My very first face sketches.

Sketches

It has been a while since I have posted any of my sketches here. Not much was done in February but as I was flipping through my old sketchbook I found these two favorites of mine. They were just done with a black gel pen.

This little bird was one of the sketches that I did last month.
I am also linking this page to Creative Everyday.

Daily Sketches

Last week, in my daily Sketching Journal I did a series of vegetable sketches.

Since my son has started full time school, thoughts of what to give him as snacks and lunch are going on in my mind frequently. From that thought came these veggies.

My sketches are not anywhere near to being good but I am still trying.
Thanks

A New Phase

Today school has started for my elder one.He is going to KG and is super excited about it. I've already started missing him but am very happy to see my precious one stepping onto the next level in his life.
I didn't do much art the last few days. This is just a quick sketch of some of the art supplies that my son took to school today.
