The second challenge for the month of February at DLP was to "Cover up the good stuff". This was not an easy project for me. Anyways this is what I came up with.
I had a page where there was some leftover paint. With the help of a handmade stencil I drew the pattern and painted them.
Next, I glued the handmade stencils on the page.
I then gave a background wash using acrylics.I finished the page with some bold black outlining over the patterns.
Then came the hard part. I covered up one side of it using white texture medium. I also wrote over it with black paint and brush.
" Good stuff can be hidden under the layers. It need not be always on the surface."
I feel this to be very true especially of human nature.
I am happy with the way how I created this page for last week's challenge.
That is it for this week.

First of all, I love the end result of covering up-it leaves a bit of mystery! And I also love how you are creating such wonderful art with minimal supplies. Hope all is going well.
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing your process and I love covering stuff up but allowing some stuff to still show through.
ReplyDeleteSuper journal page
ReplyDeleteWhat a great metaphor.... I think many things are exactly like that...the good stuff hidden! This piece turned out beautifully and has inspired me! Thanks for that!
