New Inspirations

 Welcome November -:)

My morning cup of tea and the first page for this month in my sketching journal.

Today, I want to share with you an art community named, creativebug.com Last month, I happened to see their site by chance and was simply amazed at the classes that were being offered. They have many artists from different art streams who offer various classes from painting to baking, quilting, paper art and so on. It has a monthly subscription of $4.99/ and we can cancel it anytime.

So, here is one of my creations inspired by a wonderful class by Lisa Congdon. Her art for me was so relaxing and filled with immense opportunity to explore patterns and shapes.

 A collage and doodled work

All these art works have been created in my handmade watercolor journal.

I'm linking my post to Elizabeth's Tea Stands for Tuesday I have seen people who have different kinds of artistic interests in our 'Tea' group and I think this site will be helpful to some of you.
Wish you all a happy week

Tuesday Art

Happy June to everyone. It has not been a great morning for me. I'd been trying to upload the photos and update my blog but my computer is being very difficult. Hope it is not a major issue.
Today I wanted to share some art that I created after some classes.
Last month I had signed up for Alisa Burke's mini online class, Flower Power. The above doodle is something that I did after her class.

The above page is after Melody Ross' class, The Walk. On the left I've done a self-portrait and have journaled about myself. On the right there is more journaling on all that I have been blessed with.

Hope you all have a great week

Welcome April

Happy April and Happy Spring to everyone.
Today I wanted to share at Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday this:

I'm sorry I don't have Tea on my table but a glass of Almond Milk. We love to have it often. I try to get the unsweetened one for me but the kids love the Vanilla flavor.
Beside it is a doodle in progress. Last week I found a $3/- watercolor pad in Target. Though intended for kids I found them to be very good. There are 20 cold press 140 lb sheets in it.

I also wanted to share this canvas piece that I did. Last week I watched a video by Donna Downey and got so inspired to create her painting. This is what she did. The background is made up of adding layers of paint and then she did a lovely white lotus. I loved the piece so much that I created the same piece.
In the video Donna has used many new art supplies and a Lotus Stencil. I don't have most of the things that she used but I recreated it with whatever supplies that I had and drew the Lotus free hand.

Now I have to find a place in my home to hang this piece.
Well that is all for this Tuesday.
Thank you for being here

ICAD

My attempts in doodling on Index Cards.

I started visual journaling only recently. With a pre-schooler and a six month old at home, playing with art and craft is quite challenging but I try to do at least a little bit each day.

Index cards are very helpful for me as they don't demand much time and it's affordable to experiment as much as I want on them. My creations on ICADS are like quick references for me. If I like a particular pattern or texture that I created I try to do it on a bigger canvas.

Thank you Tammy, for coming up with this great idea. Your blog is very inspiring for a novice like me.

Usually I don't follow the prompts. Whenever I have time and a pen in my hand I come up with such drawings.

Love Always
